What is the standard deduction for FY 2026-27?▾
Under the new regime, standard deduction is ₹75,000. Under the old regime, it is ₹50,000 for salaried employees.
What is Section 87A rebate for FY 2026-27?▾
Under the new regime, if your total taxable income does not exceed ₹12,00,000, you get a full rebate on your income tax (up to ₹60,000). This effectively makes income up to ₹12 lakh tax-free.
Can I switch between old and new regime every year?▾
Salaried individuals and those without business income can switch between regimes every year. Those with business/professional income can switch only once from new to old regime.
